WHPD is the worst police department in CT worse then Bridgeport. If someone assaults you get ready for them to do nothing unless there's a gun or a (((plastic toy)) involved. Only time they will help is when it is profitable to them or when they absolutely cannot do nothing.
No idea why people are giving them mediocre reviews. I've always had good service when calling in, talking to them around the city and boardwalk....They're a professional department.
Get rid of the whole place and HIRE a team of TRAINED OFFICERS.
